Hair care for babies is not too difficult

Many people find their children lose their hair often, and their hair falls a lot in pillows, but few people are concerned about what to do to care for babies' hair. Actually, wanting to take care of your child's hair is not too difficult and does not take much of your time.

Each baby is born with a different amount of thin, thick hair. Experts believe that this may be related to maternal hormones and genetic determinants. No matter how much or how little hair your baby has, you will need baby hair care.

1. Hair loss in babies

Hair loss in babies is normal, especially during the first six months of life. This is because baby hormone changes while in the womb decrease after birth. Therefore, the baby's hair no longer develops, then comes the telogen stage (the degraded phase, hair loss). You note that if after 6 months, your baby's hair continues to lose a lot, you need to take your baby to the doctor. These can be a warning sign of a nutrient deficiency or a health problem.

2. Adult hair stage

The telogen phase usually passes quickly or occurs concurrently with hair growth. Hair color and texture often change. Thanks to the hormones, your child's hair can be black or chestnut, thick or thin, sparse, curly or straight. Some children have new hair after 6 months, some children have to wait until 2 - 3 years old to have a complete change.

3. Hair care for babies properly

Shampoo

Babies do not need to wash their hair every day. Regular washing can strip the scalp's natural oils and cause hair to dry and fall out. Instead, wash your baby's hair several times a week with baby shampoo. Be gentle when using a mild shampoo that won't sting babies' eyes. When rubbing or massaging the baby's scalp too quickly can make the hair follicles tense and break easily.

Brush your baby's hair

Brush your baby's hair with a soft bristle brush or a wide-tooth comb after shampooing so as not to get entangled or pull hair that hurts baby. If your hair is tangled, you can gently remove it with your hands.

Moisturizes hair

If your baby's hair is thick, curly, or dry, then you need to care for your baby's hair by moisturizing it weekly. Look for moisturizers that are suitable for your baby's scalp such as natural ones that contain avocado oil, virgin coconut oil or almond oil. You can also make a moisturizing cream by mixing pure almond or olive oil with a few drops of rosemary or lavender oil. Take a small amount of moisturizer onto your hand and gently rub it in your baby's hair.

4. When the child has white patches on his head

When a child has plaques on the scalp it is most likely due to seborrheic dermatitis or eczema (eczema, atopic dermatitis).

Seborrheic dermatitis

Seborrheic dermatitis appears in the early months as hard, white, or yellow scaly patches on the scalp. However, it is not harmful. Seborrheic dermatitis usually goes away on its own within a few months. Wash your hair more often and gently massage your scalp with a soft brush or massage with a soft towel.

Apply a little coconut or olive oil and let it sit for 20-30 minutes. Then, use a soft brush to gently remove the plaque before shampooing. It is important not to shave your scalp to get rid of stains, as this can cause irritation.

Eczema

Eczema develops symptoms of a red, dry, itchy rash on the scalp. Babies with eczema have very sensitive skin. Eczema usually develops in children 2 - 6 months old. In serious cases, it can be uncomfortable for your baby and cause dry hair.

If your child has eczema, use mild, fragrance-free soaps or shampoos for sensitive skin. To soothe dry skin, use natural oils like coconut oil, jojoba, or lotions. If the eczema is severe or widespread, your baby's doctor may use a therapeutic shampoo, cream, or lotion.

5. How to give a girl beautiful hairstyles?

When the girl is older, you can stylize her with many hairstyles such as ponytails, side ties, braids ... When tying your baby's hair, you use elastic hair ties, elastic bands. Usually it can cause too much friction on the hair and can lead to tangles.

Ideally, you shouldn't tie your hair too tightly as this can lead to scalp damage and even hair loss . You can see this by seeing your baby's hair fall out too much. Regularly change your baby's hairstyle.
