Behavior and development

How does the baby develop?

By the seventh week of life, some babies may:

Lift your head 45 degrees while lying on your stomach;

Make sounds other than crying (eg, cooing);

Smile back when you smile with your baby.

What do you need to do to support your baby?

Your baby will stay awake more during the day this week. You can use this time to help your baby develop his senses by playing music or singing your favorite lullabies. Although they do not understand, they will respond and react to the songs you hum. You don't have to sing children's songs. Add more genres from pop to classical music and watch your baby express interest by playing, moving his lips, tugging his arms and moving his little legs.

At this point, your baby can recognize your voice. Hearing your familiar voice will help your baby adjust to the new world outside of the womb and help your baby know he's not alone. So talk to your baby as much as possible. Your baby cannot understand your words, but they can understand that you are always with them and feel the overwhelming love you give to them.

Health and safety

What should mom discuss with the doctor?

Depending on your child's health, the doctor will schedule an exam for your baby. However, if you take your baby to see a doctor this week, talk to your doctor about the following:

Ask your doctor for advice on what to consider for the next month regarding feeding, sleeping, development and infant safety;

Ask your doctor what vaccines your baby needs to be vaccinated.

Mother should know more?

Acne

It sounds odd, but acne can appear in children under 1 year. About 40% of babies are affected by acne, usually starting 2-3 weeks and can usually last until the baby is 4-6 months old. It is not known for certain what causes infant acne, but many experts believe hormones are one of the reasons that causes acne in children. These hormones originate in the mother's body and stimulate the infant's sweat glands, which in turn causes acne breakouts. Another reason babies get acne is because their infant pores are still underdeveloped and easily penetrated by dirt.

If your child has acne, wash his or her face with clean water two or three times a day and pat your baby's skin dry. The acne should go away within a few months without leaving any traces behind. You need to pay absolute attention not to squeeze acne for your baby. It's best to ask your doctor if you have any questions about your baby's skin care.

Change in skin color

Watching baby's skin change color can be frightening. But in fact, this is just the result of the incomplete functioning of the circulatory system in the baby's body that causes blood to accumulate on only half of the body. Your baby's skin will slowly change color for a moment, and the color will return to normal. Over time, this baby's skin color change will improve and gradually disappear.

Safe for your baby

You should also note the following to keep your baby safe:

Never leave baby alone on a changing table, bed, chair, or couch for even a second. If you don't have a seat belt on the changing table, use one hand to hold your baby;

Never leave baby alone with pets;

Never leave a baby alone in a room with infants under five years of age;

Do not leave baby alone with babysitters under the age of 14 or someone you do not know well or trust;

Never push or shake vigorously baby even during play, do not throw or throw baby into the air;

Never leave baby alone at home even if you are only going out for a moment;

Never take your eyes off your baby while you are shopping, walking or walking in the park;

Avoid wearing necklaces or necklaces of any kind on your body. Do not place ropes or chains on any baby toys or utensils;

Do not place plastic pieces on the mattress or anywhere your baby can reach them;

Do not place your baby on a flat surface near an unfenced window, even for a while or when your baby is asleep.

Mother's concern

What are the things you need to care about?

Wrap your baby in a towel

Get your baby out

When taking your baby out, let your baby wear suitable clothes, pay attention to protect him from the effects of the weather and always bring clothes in case the weather turns cold. If it's too cold or too hot or humid, limit the time you take your baby out. You should also avoid exposing your baby to direct sunlight, even in mild weather. And most importantly, if you are traveling by car, make sure your baby is in the reserved rear infant seat.
