Behavior and development

How does the baby develop?

By 29 weeks your baby may be able to:

Self-eating biscuits;

Teasing (making a teasing sound with saliva puff);

Muttering or babbling when happy;

Smile often when interacting with you.

What do you need to do to support your baby?

At this point you can try giving your baby a drink cup. It is best for your baby to use a cup with two handles and a spout. If your baby becomes uncomfortable when unable to take water out of the cup, remove the valve on the lid. If your baby has trouble and doesn't know how to drink from the tap, remove the cap and let your baby drink straight from the cup. You also need to show your baby how to tilt the cup back so that the liquid can flow into her mouth.

Health and safety

What should mom discuss with the doctor?

Most doctors will not schedule a checkup for the baby this month. On the plus side, it means there are no serious problems with your baby. On the negative side, you won't be able to tell how your baby is developing. Be prepared to ask questions for the next month's checkup, but don't be afraid to call your doctor right away if you have any concerns you are concerned about and can't wait until your next visit. .

Mother should know more?

Fever

By the 7th month, you have a pretty good understanding of your baby and should be able to guess what your baby is having. If your baby seems hotter than usual, use a thermometer to measure your baby's temperature. Although you often hear that 37 degrees Celsius is normal, but theoretically a healthy baby will have a temperature between 36-38 degrees Celsius when taking the rectal temperature.

It's hard to believe, but sometimes a fever is very beneficial for your baby: this means your child's body is fighting off the infection. Young children usually have a higher average temperature than older children, so babies are considered a fever only if they have one of the following symptoms:

Anus or forehead temperature is higher than 38 degrees Celsius;

The temperature in the ear is above 37.8 degrees C;

The temperature in the armpit is 37.2 degrees C higher than

Your baby is only 7 months old and your baby can't tell you when he's tired or in pain, so call your doctor if your baby has a temperature above these numbers. From the 7th month onwards, call your doctor only when the temperature reaches 38 degrees C for rectal measurement. Whatever concerns you, always talk to your doctor.

Call your doctor if your baby has a fever and the following signs: your baby has trouble breathing, has small purple-red spots or large purple streaks on the skin, loss of appetite, inability to swallow, watering excessive distraction, lethargy, a shiny baby eye, unusual manifestations, delirium, irritability and unusual behavior. In children under 1 year of age, a fever can also cause convulsions.

To reduce fever, try undressing your baby, putting your baby in a bath with warm water or bathing him with a sponge, or you can also let your baby rest in a cool (not too cold) room. Also, prevent dehydration by feeding your baby breastmilk or formula regularly.

If these steps do not help your baby, call your baby's doctor for treatment advice. If you must take medication, always take it exactly as directed by your doctor: a safe dose will be based on your baby's weight and this dose will always change. Do not overdose or take too much baby. Tell your doctor if your baby is taking medicine that can cause Reye's syndrome in a child with a fever.

If your baby eats, sleeps and plays well despite the fever, he or she may not need any treatment or medical attention. Trust your intuition as well as the thermometer when your baby has a fever.

If the baby still can not sit

Most of the stages of development will be different at different ages, so the 'normal' here is quite wide in scope at each milestone. Although on average babies can sit without support at around 6 and a half months, some babies can sit on their own at about 4 months, and others up to 9 months. Since your baby still has a long way to go, don't worry if you notice your baby develops slowly.

Sitting skills in general and other developmental skills in particular are mostly based on genetic factors in certain ages. Although there is little that parents can do to speed up this development, there are ways to prevent the slowdown. Put your baby in a baby seat, stroller or high chair, so he or she can sit very quickly. On the other hand, babies spend most of their time lying down or placed in a crib and rarely leaning to sit can sit very late. In fact, babies from different cultures also have very different moments of self-sitting.

Mother's concern

What are the things you need to care about?

Does always hug the baby spoil the baby?

Sometimes babies cry to be held, not because they want to be taken to play, but because they want to feel comfortable and noticed. Therefore, the first thing you need to do is determine if your baby has received enough attention and comfort.

See if your baby has any needs. Is baby diaper dirty? Is it time for lunch yet? Is your baby thirsty? Is your baby tired? If so, respond to your baby's needs, then the next step is to move your baby to a new location. Take your baby to the playground if he's in the crib; take your baby to the walker if he's in the playground; Take your baby on the floor if he's in a walker. This can satisfy your baby's hobby of walking around. After that, be sure your baby has toys or entertainment objects like plastic pots, plastic pans, a cute stuffed animal or a board with lots of fun things he likes. Because the time when your baby is attracted is quite short, you need to have 2 or 3 toys within reach of your baby. However, too many toys can also frustrate your baby. Give your baby a choice of toys when he seems uneasy. If the baby continues to cry for a hold, try to distract your baby: bend down on the same level for a few minutes and engage your baby in an activity, but never pick up. You can show your baby how to make a block, just the "eye-nose-mouth" on stuffed animals and guide him to follow him.

If your baby only turns attention for a moment, even if he still expresses a reluctant objection, tell him that you have work to do and move out firmly to do it. Try to appear in baby's eye, talk or sing to your baby if you find it effective. Then, move out of sight of your baby while keeping your baby's sounds. You should only do this when your baby is in a safe position, like in the crib or room. Before you do this, tilt your head to a corner and play a peek-a-boo so your baby knows that when you disappear, you'll still come back. Leave your baby with your toy a little longer each time, or you can let your baby resist for a little longer if needed. But always come back to your baby's side when he starts fussing so he can reassure him,

Gradually extend the amount of time you do not hold your baby. This helps to encourage your baby to play by himself, not letting him feel ignored or thinking that crying is the only way to get your attention. Think realistically: most babies will not play alone for more than a few minutes. Even the most independent babies need to constantly change scenes and toys. Remember, many babies who are not yet crawling can be frustrated by the fact that they cannot move from here to there until they can be carried by their parents. So, be flexible to carry the baby to another place so that the baby can change space.

Don't feel too guilty when trying to let your baby handle it on his own. If you feel that way, you might think that letting your baby play alone is a punishment (but it's not). But don't forget that your baby is still very young and needs a hug, cuddling, and being carried around. Being flexible between letting your baby move and holding the baby will help the mother and baby become close, but it won't make them too dependent on you.
