The change in your surroundings can make your baby more uncomfortable than usual when parents take him on a travel. This is the time when parents need to be understanding and spend more time with the baby.
Make a daily schedule for your baby's travel
Stories for baby travel can ruin your baby's daily schedule. Babies may be upset if their physical needs such as eating and sleeping are not being met. Keeping your baby's sleeping schedule the same while on the move may be impossible, but your baby will be happier if you set up a new, albeit temporary, schedule. This does not mean that you have to watch the clock all the way, but just feeding your baby to sleep at a set time can also help your baby feel comfortable in a new environment.
If you take your baby to travel abroad, the time zone change can slow your baby's adaptation even more slowly. Your baby may also experience air sickness, or be tired after a long flight. However, a well-rested baby will more quickly adjust to the time zone deviation than a tired child. This is also quite true for adults. So, before you leave, your whole family needs to rest and relax.
With careful preparation and some tips, it will be easier for your baby to travel
To minimize the effects of air sickness, you should schedule flight times so that you can arrive in the evening. That way, you can stick to your baby's familiar pre-bedtime schedule. For example, bathe and read to your baby, then put your baby to sleep at his normal bedtime according to the new time zone. If you're in Singapore and usually put your baby to sleep at 8pm, continue putting your baby to sleep at 8pm Singapore time even though that is an hour earlier than normal bedtime. Your baby may take a few days to adjust.
Feeding your baby familiar foods
Young children are famous for being picky about soup. Finding something your baby likes while at home is also difficult enough, while you are taking your baby on a trip. You should find for your baby similar items to the food they like where you go. Be ready mentally that the baby may be less eager. If you plan to go out for a meal, bring your baby's favorite food to keep your baby happy and comfortable as you enjoy your food.
Traveling close to the hotel if possible
Your baby's mood can become erratic when traveling, so find hotels in a location where you can get back quickly and easily. If possible, try to hang out in the vicinity of the hotel. If the weather gets bad or someone gets sick, or your baby simply wants to sleep, you can quickly return to your room.
