Development of 2 weeks fetus

How does a 2-week fetus develop?

As explained in week one, this week your baby is still not forming. Stay calm as the eggs will fertilize near the end of the second week of pregnancy, so this is the best time to plan your own pregnancy.

Mother will probably wonder if baby is male or female? In fact, the baby's sex is determined very early at the time of fertilization. Of the 46 chromosomes that make up genetic material, only two chromosomes - one from the sperm and the other from the egg determine a baby's sex. We call them the sex chromosomes.

Each egg has only one X sex chromosome; meanwhile, each sperm can have an X or Y sex chromosome. If the sperm fertilized with an egg has an X chromosome, the mother will be a daughter (carrying the XX sex chromosome). ; And vice versa, if the sperm fertilized with an egg has a Y chromosome, the mother will be a son (carrying the XY sex chromosome).

The change in the mother's body at 2 weeks of pregnancy

How does the mother's body change?

Mother's body is ready to ovulate for fertilization. Mother should determine the date of ovulation to know the optimal time for conception.

During sex, sperm will enter the body and head towards the egg waiting to be fertilized. Only a single sperm can access and penetrate the egg to fertilize. When this happens, a fertilized egg implants the wall of the uterus. The mother's uterine wall will thicken and be ready to start feeding your 2-week-old baby. I won't know if I'm pregnant until a few weeks after.

What are the things you need to pay attention to?

The signs of pregnancy for mothers will not be the same, so you may or may not have morning sickness. The best way to know if you're pregnant is to see if your menstrual cycle is coming. If the mother is no longer menstruating, immediately go to the doctor to be examined and advised more carefully.

Doctor's advice about 2 week pregnancy

What should mom discuss with the doctor?

You should tell the doctor that you are trying to conceive. The doctor will ask the medical history and perform a general health check for the mother and consider the formation of the fetus . During a pre-pregnancy check-up, you should tell your doctor if you are sick or take any medications. This will help prepare the mother better when conception begins.

What tests do you need to know?

You need to have a checkup during this time to make sure your body can conceive and become pregnant. You may be asked to have the following tests:

1. Blood test

Blood tests will help detect sexually transmitted diseases and antibodies to infectious diseases like rubella or chickenpox, thereby determining which treatment or vaccination is needed before pregnancy.

2. Cervical smear (Pap Test)

This test will help the doctor detect any problems that may affect a mother's chances of conceiving.

3. Genetic testing

This test will help you detect diseases that can be passed from mother to baby, such as sickle cell anemia, marine anemia and Tay Sachs disease.

What do you need to know to ensure safety during pregnancy?

Before the good news comes, be very wary of factors that may harm both mother and 2-week-old baby that may exist in the mother. Here is one of the things mothers need to keep in mind to ensure the safety of future pregnancy.

1. Pain reliever

What will you do when you have a migraine? The mother will probably take Efferalgan containing Codeine® - a paracetamol containing Codeine®. Remember! You may be pregnant! Most pain relievers are not safe for pregnancy and can last for a few days in the body. The ingredients in the above medicines can harm your baby's development and reduce the mother's ability to conceive. Ideally, consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking any medicine during this important time.

2. Alcohol, drugs and tobacco products

The time of pregnancy is when mothers should avoid alcohol, drug use and tobacco products. These substances can harm a mother's fertility, increase the risk of miscarriage and cause birth defects in the fetus. Some of the most common defects are fetal alcohol intoxication syndrome, respiratory problems, low birth weight. Please go to the doctor and consult the doctor when you have any questions or encounter any health-related problems.
